The Great Winnersh Walkabout, 8 miles, leisurely
Details
Fancy stretching your legs, getting some fresh air and enjoying a lovely day out in the Berkshire countryside?
Then come along for 'The Great Winnersh Walkabout' — an 8-mile circular walk exploring the footpaths, hills and countryside around Winnersh, Sindlesham and the surrounding area.
Our adventure begins at Winnersh Triangle station, where we’ll meet before setting off on our circular journey. Leaving the station behind, we’ll head away from the hustle and bustle, initially following a route alongside the M4 before gradually making our way towards the countryside.
We’ll head towards Round Hill and Fox Hill, taking in the changing scenery as we leave the busier surroundings behind. From there, our route leads us past Bearwood Lakes Golf Course and onwards towards Gravelpit Hill, with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the walk, chat with fellow walkers and take in our surroundings.
As we continue, we’ll follow a network of countryside footpaths, winding our way through the rural landscape towards Carters Hill Farm. This part of the walk offers a chance to slow down, enjoy being outdoors and appreciate the quieter paths away from the everyday hustle and bustle.
We’ll then make our way towards the outskirts of Sindlesham, before turning back towards Winnersh to complete our circular route. With eight miles under our belts, we’ll return to Winnersh Triangle station having enjoyed a good walk, some fresh air and, hopefully, some great company along the way!
Don't forget your packed lunch! We’ll find a suitable spot along the route to stop for a well-earned lunch break. Bring something tasty, a drink to keep you refreshed and perhaps a little treat to enjoy along the way.
