Ableton User Group Berlin: Steffan Ianigro

Details
Hi everyone,
For the February meeting of the Berlin Ableton User Group, Steffan Iangrio will present on Plecto LFO- a tool he developed with Max for live.
Steffan Ianigro is a sound artist, software engineer and researcher. He recently finished his PhD at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, exploring how concepts such as artificial life can be used to help enhance the gestural qualities of improvised electronic music. He developed the Plecto LFO (https://plectomusic.com/) as part of this project, a non-linear LFO for Ableton Live that can be used as a source of gestural control within performances.
Steffan's presentation touches on the relatively forgotten world of evolutionary computation and cybernetics that has little representation in widely used music creation platforms. After a brief discussion about his background and the Plecto LFO, Steffan will perform a recent audio-visual work that utilises the device to control both audio and visual elements of an Ableton Live set. This performance will be followed by an overview of the project setup and a Q&A.
