First meetup Algorithmic Trading and Backtesting

This will be the first meeting for people interested in Algorithmic Trading and Backtesting.

The idea of the meeting is get to know each other and to see if and how we can cooperate in existing projects or start new projects

There are at least three broad areas of interest in this regard:

1. Trading theory and practice: Concepts of trading, stock market, markets, technical analysis, portfolio analysis e.g.

2. Statistics / Scientific Concepts: General knowledge of Probability and related mathematical concepts. How to find patterns and/or predict returns in historical data? What mathematical/ scientific concept can be used?

3. Programming: Knowledge in at least one programming language or admin skills. How to implement a backtesting framework and/or an trading bot, which API's to use for trading and which API's to use for historical market data for live trading and backtesting. Which programming language and which software to use?

The idea is to collaborate and exchange knowledge for people who plan to find and implement an automated trading strategy.

The first meeting is for people who have at least basic knowledge in one of the three mentioned areas of expertise (Trading, Statistics or Programming).

Lets see who is interested in what and how we find out how we could share resources.

If you do not have any background in the mentioned fields, please write me and I would love to offer you material to study or have an extra meeting for people who are totally new to all topics mentioned above.
