AES Germany Berlin: Ian Corbett "More Efficient Mixing"
Details
About this event
Another AES Germany Berlin event is just around the corner! This time Professor Ian Corbett is invited to present strategies and procedures for a more focused mixing process.
More Efficient Mixing
As students, hobbyists, and life-long learners practicing our craft, we are often used to working to distant or relatively far-away deadlines. In the “real world” of employment or busy balanced lives, recording and mixing projects come with shorter deadlines. Educator and author, Ian Corbett will discuss strategies and procedures that can help you make mixing a more focused process – allowing you to complete mixes faster, avoid common frustrations, and develop skills that will prepare you to work on a wide variety of projects and styles. Join us as we identify what a “good mix” might be, and how to achieve that goal as efficiently as possible.
Biography:
IAN CORBETT is the Coordinator and Professor of Audio Engineering and Music Technology at Kansas City Kansas Community College. He also owns and operates "off-beat-open-hats LLC”, providing live sound, audio production, and recording services to clients in the Kansas City area. Throughout his career he has balanced education with professional employment in a wide variety of audio industry fields, including theater sound, television and radio, location concert recording, live sound reinforcement, and forensic audio evidence recording. An internationally recognized author and educator, he also frequently serves as an external examiner and program evaluator in the US and Europe. He is the author of Mic It!, now in its second edition, published by Routledge/Focal Press in 2021, and also various magazine articles.
The AES Germany is an official section of the Audio Engineering Society and it is the successor of the three previous sections:
AES Central German Section
AES North German Section
AES South German Section
These sections were united and formed AES Germany, which is in service since January 2022. AES Germany has an extraordinary potential with many pioneering engineers, scientists, inventors, innovators, manufacturers, educators and students under its roof. Our aim is to be an adapter for all those audio enthusiasts and bring them together to actively exchange ideas, to interact and to collaborate.
