A lot of what is going on in the world is dreadful to say the least. So i was happy when Rodrigo came up with a suggestion of a „non doom read“. Here is what he has in mind for us:

It is likely the first time we will discuss a book labelled as "Cozy Fantasy" and "Romantasy" (GoodReads.com).

What is actually Cozy Fantasy? Wikipedia states:

"Cozy fantasy is a subgenre of fantasy fiction characterized by its focus on comforting, low-stakes narratives set in fantasy worlds. It emphasizes themes of community, friendship, healing, and everyday life, often eschewing violence, war, and other serious conflict typical of high fantasy.
...
The label cozy fantasy gained prominence in early 2020, though works with similar qualities predate the term. Tolkien's The Hobbit (1937) and Diana Wynne Jones' Howl's Moving Castle (1986) are sometimes described as cozy fantasies, though they were published before the term became popular."

So, let’s explore a new world through a brand-new genre. Welcome to the cozy side of our book club!
