About the speakers:
Hannah Foxwell, Director and Co-founder at Pendrica (https://pendrica.com/)
Hannah’s (@hannahfoxwell) background managing large scale engineering projects naturally led to a keen interest in Agile, Continuous Delivery and the DevOps movement as a way of building collaborative, highly-performing teams. As a coach and mentor she continues this work today, helping teams improve how they work together in the fast-moving world of automation.
The Only Thing That’s Constant is Change
Landing large scale change, such as DevOps transformational change, is hard. There can be many false starts, changes don’t stick, or the vision is lost along the way. In this talk Hannah will share some insights into how to approach change both as an instigator and contributor. Including when to push harder, and when to cut yourself some slack!
Nathen Harvey, VP of Community Development at Chef (https://www.chef.io/)
Nathen (@nathenharvey), VP of Community Development at Chef, helps the community whip up an awesome ecosystem built around the Chef platform. Nathen is a co-host of the Food Fight Show, a podcast about Chef and DevOps.
Modern Cookbook Development
A lot has changed about with the workflow for creating awesome cookbooks. Along the way there have also been a number of improvements in the Chef language. This talk will explore some of the latest practices for developing well tested cookbooks. We will survey recent changes with the Chef Development Kit, the Chef language, recommendations for testing your cookbook with Travis.
