Session 1 - "From BOFH to GitOps: How the cloud transformed a popular IT job description"

Abstract: A quarter century can be considered an age in computer information technology. While back in the 1990ies experts have been a scarce resource with long, long beards and a tendency towards sarcasm, the archetypical system administrator looks different and has a different job. And the journey is not over here: IT staff members face new challenges in the upcoming AI era, which may or may not change the job descriptions once more.
In this session, we examine the past and future steps of this transformation. We have a detailed glimpse on the role of the cloud principle with all its facets, and derive recommendations on planning a hassle-free operations routine in modern, scalable infrastructure.

Session 2 - "Shift from IaaS to PaaS - Google GKE and Cloud Run"
