ROUTE:
You can't say you have lived your life to the fullest when you haven't been at Holly's Galeriecafé. Her story of being nearly blind but baking and serving delicious cakes for a very fair price is widely known and she's the stop for many, not only cyclists.
What is known only to those who have been there is the atmosphere, and the taste, of course! A very simple life and setup shows that there IS something more than the daily trouble a city slicker may encounter.
Do you want to experience that? Then enjoy life and come on a ride with us!

We start in Erkner, right outside the train station and follow solid only paths for about 14 km until we reach the Cafe.
After (most likely) filled with enough sugar to fire up a SpaceX rocket we head further East-ish through the forrest on somewhat solid forrest paths to catch some beautiful and quiet nature spots.
After another 14 km we arrive at the Fürstenwalder Spree, a lovely channel, which we will more or less follow for the remaining 7 km.
After about 34 km (excl. getting lost) we arrive at the train station in Fürstenwalde and hop in to the RE1 which brings us straight back to Berlin.

SPEED:
Leisurely around 14 km/h.
This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general."

DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:
This is an about 34ish km ride, with mostly solid paths in the beginning but also soft/forrest ground after the break.
Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me!

MEETING POINT:
11:00 - outside Erkner train station
I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike and may wear some greenish clothes.

TICKET:
Erkner is still in ABC, so 4,70 per Person. Fürstenwalde to Berlin is 7,50
Please don't forget to get your "VBB network"-bike ticket: 24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network for 6,50 EUR (just ABC is not suitable).

WAY OUT (Me):
10:25 - dep. Berlin Ostbahnhof. platform 1, taking RE1
10:48 - arr. Erkner
Feel free to choose your means of transportation!

WAY BACK (Me):
17:54 - dep. Fürstenwalde, platform 2, taking RE1
18:29 - arr. Berlin Ostbahnhof
This train runs every hour at :12 and :54

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work?

Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube suitable for your tyres to fix a flat tyre a big plus!
While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you!

Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it.
And don't forget some liquids for yourself, one way or the other!
