Join me on a journey to understanding and appreciating brandy and Cognac to the fullest extent. We shall taste the wine that eventually becomes “eau de vie” and a delicious Armagnac before enjoying a few of the world’s greatest Cognacs. I’ll explain each step, definition and label so that you will be a true expert by the end of the evening.
We’ll understand terms like marc, fine, pommace, alambic, head/tail, paradis, hors d’âge, fins bois, brouillis… and delve into the influence of Cognac on popular culture.
What’s more, the food has been specially chosen to pair beautifully with the bottles: dark chocolate, desserts, fruit, blue cheese, charcuterie, and fish can all accentuate the flavours, and be improved themselves.
