Hike in the Brocken Mountain 1,141 m. Harz. 293 Km away from Berlin.

ROUTE:
We will take the train from Berlin Alexanderplatz to Wernigerode. It takes 3 hours: Yes, it is a long way but you won't regret it. In Wernigerode we will take a bus to Schierke.
We hike from Schierke to Brocken. It is only about 11 Kms but not so easy: Very nice hike with an incredible view at the bottom of the mountain.
To come back to Wernigerode we will take a old Steam locomotive wich will make a nice trip from the mountain to the main train Station.
Before we take the train to come back to Berlin, we will see the old citycenter of Wernigerode.

MEETING POINT AND INFO TRAVEL:
6:50 : We meet in Bhf. Alexanderplatz at the platform 2 for the train HBX74536, leaving at 07:12. Please check the plattform for the train HBX74536.
10:35 : Bus 264 to Schierke.
15:00 : Steam locomotive from Brocken to Wernigerode.
17:42: Train HBX74536 to Berlin
20:46: Arrive in Alexanderplatz.

TICKET INFORMATION:
Train HBX74536 Berlin – Wernigerode – Berlin: 34€ for two persons.
Bus: 2,7€
Steam locomotive: 33€ This one is not so cheap, but belive me, You will love it!

WHAT DO YOU NEED?:
Appropriate clothes and comfortable outdoor hiking boots, rain gear, warm clothes for the pause, water, food, FFP2 mask for the train. You need also money (cash) for the tickets and maybe for food or water on the way.
