What we’re about
This is a community for men of all kinds. We come together in different formats to socialize, learn, grow, and to support each other. You'll often find us talking about areas of life such as our relationships, family, work, (mental) health, and spiritual growth, to name just a few...
The mission
This group creates a protected space for shifting the attention back to ourselves and spending time in the company of other men for self-reflection and personal growth. You are welcomed simply as the man you are with feelings and needs distinct from your job, your partnerships, or any other role. In the group we build relationships with other men and we work on the relationship with ourselves.
What we offer
We organize engaging group activities that span from intimate workshops to larger social gatherings. Some of our regular events include in-person and online circles, casual meet and greets, weekend retreats and outings in nature. We are constantly adding new ways to engage and always welcome members input and involvement to create new experiences.
Who is welcome?
The group is for men of any age, any ethnicity, any level of experience, any sexual preference, and any way of expressing their gender. This group is explicitly pro-men, not anti-women. We recognise of course that there are many aspects of masculinity, maleness, manhood and being a man: There is no single 'correct' way of defining these – and we don't seek to here. This group is a space for anyone who identifies as a man, and we leave it up to you to know if what we're offering sounds right for you. Everyone is invited to come along and see if our meetings are useful for them.
Psychological Help
The Berlin Men’s Group is not a therapy group - the men who facilitate it are also ‘just’ community members. If you are seeking support for a psychological disorder or crisis, please consult a professional therapist.
If you are in acute distress, consider reaching out to one of these professional organisations:

See all- Social: Meetup at Jäger und Lustig FriedrichshainJäger & Lustig, Berlin
This is a casual, social meetup in a Friedrichshain bar and eatery, with no set agenda or topics. Time to get to know some of the other men in the group and to learn about the different other formats we offer.
For newcomers, it's a relaxed opportunity to check out the group and see if it's right for you - and a chance to ask hosts and other regular attendees about what we get up to.
Get together and have a beer - perhaps an alcohol-free one, if you prefer - with us after the working day.
Jäger & Lustig is also a restaurant, if you want to grab something to eat: https://jaegerundlustig.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Jaeger-und-Lustig-Speisekarte-06-2024-Web-de.pdf
If weather permits we will be sitting outside in the beer garden.
We're looking forward to seeing you !
- Aging & men of different generations - PathForge Discussion GroupLiesl, 12051 Berlin
Masculinity is supposedly in crisis. Is it? What does that mean to you and for the world? Meanwhile, everybody talks about Adolescence and it seems like all the podcasts and shows are about men all of the sudden. Do you have thoughts? Want to share and discuss?
Honestly, it's refreshing that people are finally noticing that it can be pretty confusing to be a guy in the modern world. The rules keep changing, we get conflicting messages, and it's easy to feel stuck wondering where we fit. And there's always someone just waiting to criticise us for something in the name of tearing down old power structures. It would be nice if all this tearing down would go in pair with building something new - and something that works for men, too.
This event series is about that building part. It's about figuring it all out, for ourselves and for the world. It's about finding our place, creating connections, working out how to be, and distinguishing all that others want of us, from what we want ourselves. It's about figuring out what's broken in the society, how it affects us, and how to change it.
Aging, and men of different generations. How do we deal with the inevitable passage of time? How do we find a common language with men younger and older than us?
What to expect:
Regular discussion-style meetings with men who like to explore a topic in-depth. Brainstorming ideas that might help us in our lives, but also that might help others, with a dash of big talk on society and systemic changes. Topics include:- “Strength” Revisited - What does being “strong” look like beyond physical power? How do we balance resilience with openness?
- Friends After 30 - Why is male friendship hard to maintain? What models (old or new) can keep bonds alive?
- Emotional Fluency Without the Cringe - How can we talk feelings in a way that feels authentic, not forced? Practical tools that actually help.
- Work: Breadwinner, Care‑giver, or Both? - With jobs shifting and remote work rising, how do we redefine success and contribution at home and on the job?
- Porn, Gaming, and Dopamine - Where’s the line between harmless escape and life‑draining habit? What healthier swaps exist?
- Healthy Conflict - From bar debates to boardrooms, how do we argue without blowing up relationships or shutting down?
- Bodies, Aging, and Self‑Image - Bulking, bio‑hacking, dad‑bod pride, how do we make peace with changing bodies while staying fit and confident?
- Fatherhood (Actual or Future) - What kind of dads do today’s boys need? How do we parent differently from, or similar to, our own fathers?
- Power & Accountability - How can men use influence responsibly, at work, in relationships, online, without feeling we’re “losing ground”?
This group is for men who want to:
- Explore what it means to be a man these days
- Have deep, fascinating discussions
- Take action and make the world better
About me:
I'm a philosopher, I lecture in applied ethics, run PathForge, an NGO focused on helping men grow, and sit on the Steering Committee of MenEngage Europe, contributing to the discussion around men and masculinities across the continent. I started the Man's Compass blog and video channel to help men reach their full potential, drawing on scientific research and my experience. - Forging Our Paths - Discussion GroupLiesl, 12051 Berlin

First Topic: Risk & Purpose. From extreme sports to entrepreneurship, men seek risk. What part of the male identity is that? How does it contribute to feeling we have a purpose? How to channel it best?
