This event is supported by Outerbounds 🙌 Outerbounds (creator of Metaflow) are building human-friendly infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of machine learning and AI at major enterprises like Amazon, Netflix, Goldman Sachs, and more.

Join us for two main talks:

  1. The first one from DB Systel about: "Auto-Governance in ML Systems"
  2. The second one from Outerbounds & MSAID about: "How Full Stack Machine Learning and AI are Transforming Biology".

We will also have multiple lightning talks and a trivia quiz in which you can win cool prizes! Make sure to be on time (see agenda below) to take part in the trivia.

🎙️Main speakers:

  • Jürgen Stary, a Solution Architect for MLOps at DB Systel, embarked on his ML journey in Taipei in 2015. His work across startups and enterprises has honed his skills in ML infrastructure and process design, with a focus on user-friendly AI systems. He champions human-centric architecture to ensure AI is accessible and promotes innovation through clear, efficient systems.
  • Sebastian Folz, a Machine Learning Engineer at DB, began in the manufacturing sector before moving into retail and then to DB. He focuses on leveraging ML to enhance Deutsche Bahn's operations, emphasizing the need for trustworthy, transparent AI and exploring innovative approaches to meet future AI requirements.

  • Hugo Bowne-Anderson, is Head of Developer Relations at Outerbounds. He is also host of the industry podcast Vanishing Gradients. Hugo is a data scientist, educator, evangelist, content marketer, and data strategy consultant, with extensive experience at Coiled, a company that makes it simple for organizations to scale their data science seamlessly, and DataCamp, the online education platform for all things data. He also has experience teaching basic to advanced data science topics at institutions such as Yale University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, conferences such as SciPy, PyCon, and ODSC and with organizations such as Data Carpentry. He has developed over 30 courses on the DataCamp platform, impacting over 2 million learners worldwide through his own courses. He also created the weekly data industry podcast DataFramed, which he hosted and produced for 2 years. He is committed to spreading data skills, access to data science tooling, and open source software, both for individuals and the enterprise.
  • Siegfried Gessulat is co-founder and head of machine learning at MSAID, a startup transforming mass spectrometry-based data analysis by applying machine learning at every step of the workflow. During his Phd in computational proteomics at Technical University of Munich he developed the state-of-the-art deep learning model for peptide fragmentation prediction Prosit and contributed to ProteomeTools the largest open dataset in proteomics. Before, Siegfried worked at SAP Research in Shanghai, Nice, and SAP’s Innovation Center in Potsdam.
