7.00 PM - Building an Event Analytics Pipeline with Kafka, ksqlDB, and Druid

Have you ever wondered how a modern event analytics pipeline is different from a classical ETL setup? I am going to explain event analytics using Apache Druid, the real time open source OLAP engine. In a live demo, I show how to design and set up an analytics pipeline in just a few minutes, using Kafka for delivery, ksqlDB for preprocessing, and Apache Druid for real time OLAP.

About the speaker: Hellmar Becker is a Sr. Sales Engineer at Imply. He has worked in data analytics for more than 20 years in various pre- and post-sales roles. Hellmar has worked with large customers in the finance, telco and retail industries, and spent several years at big data company, Hortonworks, and recently at Confluent.

Efficient and reliable logistics are crucial for any delivery service, and Wolt, a leading technology company known for its local commerce platform, is no exception. In this talk, we will explore how Wolt has leveraged ML to power its logistics and ensure seamless deliveries to millions of customers worldwide. We will discuss the various components of Wolt’s ML platform, and how the logistics team is using the ML platform to drive improved operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

About the speakers:

• Anil has been a Software Engineer in Logistics at Wolt for 5 months. Before Wolt he worked for more than 5 years as data and backend engineer in the mobility domain at moovel (REACHNOW) and Mobimeo.
• From Android developer to Data Scientist to Machine Learning Engineer, Stephen has a wealth of software engineering experience at Wolt. He believes that machine learning has lots to learn from software engineering best practices and spends his time making ML deployments simple for other engineers.
• Delivering end-to-end Data Science solutions with high ownership, Kasimir has been building ML solutions in Wolt's Logistics for 2 years. He thinks unified tooling is crucial in managing multiple productionized ML projects.
