What is artificial intelligence, and where is it headed?
Are we alone in the universe, or are there other forms of life out there (Fermi paradox)?
What is the state of the art in quantum computing?
Are we living in a simulation (simulation hypothesis)?
How did life on Earth begin? How is life defined?
What are the existential threats that humanity faces, and how can they be tackled? (climate change, biological/chemical/nuclear/autonomous weapons, etc)
How can consciousness be defined?
How does bitcoin work?

This event is intended to bring together people who are interested in discussing these sorts of topics over beers and food. No experience needed, just a little curiosity, and a willingness to think things through scientifically.

We want to approach these questions with humility. It’s not a competition to speak over top of people, or flaunt what you know. Everyone is welcome, especially women and people from demographics who are generally left out of conversations like these.
