Push Hands (推手) is a partner exercise practiced mainly within the art of Taiji (or Tai Chi) to apply its concepts and techniques against a non-compliant opponent. The goal is to upset your partner’s balance without losing your own. Push Hands is able to enhance body sensitivity, timing, balance, coordination, etc. It is also able to help regulate stress.
All levels, martial arts styles, and even non-martial artists are welcome!
Please wear loose comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
We are not here to hurt each other, mindlessly overpower, score a point, or be petty. The purpose here is to help each other learn more about their body, and to help each other improve their skills. Please leave your ego at home.
