How To Set Goals To Increase Happiness

We all know goals are important. When the new year rolls around, we often feel obligated to aim high and set a lot of new goals. This can quickly lead to frustration when we are not able to live up to our high expectations. The question is, how can we set goals in a way that allows us to focus on the things we genuinely want to achieve without spreading ourselves too thin and making no progress?

There are many approaches when it comes to goal setting, the most famous one being the SMART method. In this workshop, however, we will work with techniques based on happiness research. You will be able to evaluate your existing goals or set new ones if you don’t have any yet for 2024.

Event Structure:

  1. Introductory round: We'll start with a quick round of introductions.
  2. Examining goals: We'll discuss the usefulness of goals and how they influence our well-being.
  3. Exercise: We'll explore ways to set achievable and meaningful goals.
  4. Reflection: We'll share our thoughts and impressions after the exercises.
  5. Wrap-up and feedback: At the end of the event, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions or provide feedback about the event.

We will be meeting in the open living room (Offenes Wohnzimmer) in Moabit. It’s a very cosy room just for us. You can find the exact location on the map. The event is free. The usage of the room, however, is donation-based, so please consider leaving a small donation for the team of the open living room after the event.
