Talks
- Enhanced UX: Vector Search in Visual Domains
Isabelle Mohr, Maximilian Werk (Jina AI)
We introduce an innovative approach to harnessing vector/hybrid search in visually-oriented fields such as fashion and home decor. By employing a map-based interface and interactive feedback system, users can effortlessly navigate and refine search results without requiring domain-specific language or additional keyboard input. This streamlined experience is particularly crucial in the mobile sphere, paving the way for a more satisfying and intuitive user journey.
About the speakers
Isabelle's passion for languages and technology led her to become an NLP engineer at Jina AI. When she's not busy crafting innovative solutions, you can find her sharing her knowledge through engaging presentations, talks and interviews. With her unique skillset, Isabelle aims to understand and share how AI is shaping the future of natural language processing.
Maximilian has worked in Search at Zalando and in Jina AI since 2016. He enjoys bringing machine learning into production and utilizing vector search to improve the user experience. The combination of high quality engineering, digging into data and deeply understanding the real-world problem at hand thrills him.
- Content deduplication: vector vs keyword
Zbyszko Papierski (Brainly)
At Brainly, we fight against content duplication—our users will quite often post the questions already asked. Along with more systematic solutions, we needed a way to deduplicate the content we already had in our knowledge base. During this talk I’ll go through some reasons why we needed it at all (and why you mind need it, too!) and how did we manage to come to a satisfying solution. It may not be what you think…
About the speaker
Engineer with 16 years of IT experience, with more than half of those years spent on figuring out search (still work in progress). Currently search engineer at Brainly, after hours handles organizing duties as a part of Polish Tricity Java User Group leadership.
Many thanks to Delivery Hero for hosting the meetup!
