Stoic Hike – Philosophy in Nature

Details

Join us for a hike with a twist — a walk through nature inspired by the timeless wisdom of Stoic philosophy. Whether you're new to Stoicism or have been practicing for years, this is a chance to explore meaningful ideas, connect with others, and enjoy thoughtful conversation in a beautiful outdoor setting.

🗣 What to Expect:
At several points along the hike, we’ll pause to introduce a short Stoic theme — such as acceptance, virtue, resilience, or mortality. You’ll be invited to reflect or discuss the topic as we walk. No prior knowledge of philosophy is needed — just curiosity and an open mind.

👣 Hike Details:

  • Distance: approx. 12 km, from S Nikolassee to S Grunewald
  • Duration: about 3 hours, plus breaks
  • Easy to moderate pace, suitable for most fitness levels

🎒 What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Water and a snack
  • Clothing suitable for the weather
  • Optional: a journal for your reflections

💬 Why Stoicism?
Stoicism is an ancient philosophy focused on living with wisdom, courage, justice, and self-discipline. It teaches us to focus on what we can control and to meet life’s challenges with clarity and strength. A walk in nature is the perfect setting to engage with these ideas together.
Looking forward to walking and reflecting with you!
