Stoic Hike – The Four Virtues

Details

Join us for a reflective hike through nature, guided by the core principles of Stoic philosophy. This time, we’ll explore the four cardinal virtues of Stoicism: Wisdom, Courage, Justice, and Temperance. Whether you're already on the Stoic path or just curious about it, this is an open, welcoming space to think, talk, and walk together.

🗣 What to Expect:
During the hike, we’ll pause at four points to introduce each virtue with a short reflection and some discussion questions. You’re free to share your thoughts in small groups, reflect in silence, or just listen. No prior knowledge of Stoicism is required — just a willingness to engage with timeless questions about how to live well.

👣 Hike Details:

  • Distance: approx. 12 km
  • Duration: about 3 hours, plus breaks
  • Easy to moderate pace, suitable for most fitness levels

🚆 Getting There:
We’ll take the RB27 train at 12:27 to Wandlitzsee. Please make sure to be on time and have a valid ticket. The Deutschlandticket is valid for this route.

🎒 What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Water and a snack
  • Weather-appropriate clothing

💬 Why the Four Virtues?
The Stoics believed that a good life is one rooted in four core virtues: Wisdom (clear judgment), Courage (acting despite fear), Justice (doing right by others), and Temperance (self-restraint and balance). On this hike, we’ll take time to explore what each of these means in our own lives.

Looking forward to walking and reflecting with you!
