What You'll Learn
Practical tools to visualize, analyze and optimize your workflows.
In this hands-on 1-hour workshop, you'll map a delivery workflow, identify bottlenecks, and apply lean principles to improve your delivery’s effectiveness.
What is Value Stream Mapping?
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is designed to help teams achieve a specific business outcome by improving work processes.
In a series of group mapping activities, teams visualize the flow of work from start to finish, identify inefficiencies, delays, and waste. The team uses what they’ve learned to create a roadmap of measurable improvement actions, in service of delivering more value to the customer.
Originally developed at Toyota in the 1940s, value stream mapping helps teams visualize workflows to eliminate waste and deliver value faster. More info.
Who Should Attend?
- Senior Leaders: Visualize and invest on what's blocking your business goals.
- Product Managers & Owners: Speed up feature delivery and time-to-value.
- Technology Leaders & Engineers: Apply DevOps principles to reduce deployment pain, increase flow, and improve quality.
- Agile Coaches: Help teams see the system end-to-end, and facilitate conversations about that drive measurable improvement.
- Anyone who wants to make work less wasteful and improve delivery of value to the customer

The call opens at start time, and it's first-come, first-serve - the first 10 people to join get to participate! If we're at capacity when you arrive, try again next time, or reach out about booking an exclusive workshop for you and your team!
I'm choosing this approach for 2 reasons:
- What counts is whether you show up to the workshop, not how far in advance you've booked it
- Online sessions work best when they're short and small so everyone gets time to participate and ask questions
Workshop Agreement

2. Dive in!! Add to the board
3. Don’t talk about invisible things: write it on the board, then talk about it

I’m a Software Engineer with over five years of experience, building and scaling systems for large companies, startups, and a nonprofit.
I spent 2024 leading Value Stream Mapping initiatives at Relex, a global SaaS company, involving individual teams, multiple teams, and an entire technology department.
I’ve partnered with these teams to increase revenue by onboarding customers faster, preventing service disruptions, delivering value more often, and wasting less time.
A thought leader in the Value Stream Mapping and DevOps space, I’m actively engaged with the international community, and currently launching my own consultancy in Berlin.Erica is the founder of The Flow Hive, a collective of independent experts supporting organizations that want to scale without slowing down, organize without over-controlling, and lead without losing their soul. With over 15 years of experience in IT and a strong background in Open Source, she's guided companies through shifts like moving from Projects to Products, designing for micro-enterprises, and creating self-managing value streams.
