Talk Outline:
Combining semantic search and twin product classification for recognition of purchasable items in voice shopping :

In this talk, Verena will provide a high-level overview of how Alexa works and explain why providing a good user experience for voice shopping is hard.
She will also present a new approach to better recognize when a user wants to shop and show how it can be used in a real-world production setup.

About the speaker:
Verena Weber is a Research Scientist at Alexa AI (Amazon) in Berlin where she works on Natural Language Understanding models for German and French. Her background is in statistics and she worked as a data scientist across different industries before joining Amazon almost three years ago. Besides NLP, she is passionate about yoga, meditation, personal growth and mental well-being.
