Dear Community,

we hope you are rolling into the end of the year with full steam and ready to learn and network with us once again in November. This time we are sponsored by Netlight Consulting with two great talks and all the joyful atmosphere of our typical evenings ahead!

===================================================

18:30 - Warming up and networking chat
18:45 - Intro by AWS UG Berlin & Netlight Consulting
19:00 - 19:45 - Anna Garcia Martinez // Techniques Behind Resilient Systems
Building resilient systems goes beyond handling failures, it’s about anticipating them and ensuring recovery without compromising stability. Join me in exploring retries and circuit breakers, and how they are two of the most widely used patterns in modern architectures, helping applications recover gracefully from transient issues and prevent cascading failures.
But while they can increase resilience, they can also introduce new risks if misused, such as retry storms, hidden latencies, or premature service degradation.

19:45 - 20:00 - Networking break with food, snacks and drinks

20:00 - 20:45 - Tom Halecker // Migrating Distributed Monoliths with AWS Magic

A zero down time migration gets harder and maybe nearly impossible with a highly interdependent system. With a few AWS tricks and modular infrastructure, you can gain back the control of migration chaos. Let’s talk about tech & organisations and how we can approach tricky migrations.
