The state of Async in C++ and Qt API Design

Details

The first meetup in 2020 will take place next Tuesday at MBition (Dovestraße 1, 10587 Berlin) with two interesting talks about Async in C++ and the Qt API Design and snacks and drinks :)

talks:

  1. Oliver Esser - The State of Async in C++
    Abstract:
    tba

Bio:
Oliver Esser joined MBition 18 months ago where he is working on a Linux-based infotainment platform written in C++.
His background lies in theoretical physics and besides learning programming languages, he also enjoys reading a good detective, fantasy or sci-fi novel and teaching social dancing.

  1. Simon Hausmann - Qt API Design

Abstract:
One of the many reasons programmers choose Qt is because it is easy to use.
Easy of use is one of the guiding principles of Qt's API design, and in these 30 minutes I'd like to give you a quick tour
through the philosophies that we try to apply. Since developers rarely work in isolation,
just about everyone will be faced with writing APIs at some point that somebody else in your team, company or community may use.

Bio:
Simon Hausmann is a Software Engineer with The Qt Company.
He has invested the last 16 years in Qt and still enjoys C++.
He has contributed to various Qt modules such as the QML library, core libraries, the meta-object compiler, the text renderer, and the web engine.
In his spare time, he is trying to improve his coffee brewing skills and is convinced that black filter coffee should be a food group.
