Going from a cross-platform graphical C++ app to a full-scale mobile application

Details
Our February meetup is a joint meetup with the Factory Berlin's Developers Circle.
The speaker Lars Melchior will give an exciting talk for both our communities!
Since it is a joint event please also register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/expanding-the-boundaries-of-react-native-with-c-tickets-89220118777
Creating a cross-platform graphical App in C++ and turning it into a full-scale mobile application
C++ allows writing reusable, cross-platform code capable of running at optimal performance on nearly any Platform. However it remains a quite unpopular choice for mobile app development due to missing library and infrastructure support. In this talk we will look at reasons to choose C++ anyways and learn at how to use it to build a graphical App from scratch that runs on desktop and mobile. Finally, we will learn how to add platform-specific UI elements and functionality using React Native and make use of the best of both worlds.
About the speaker
Lars Melchior graduated from Physics at the University of Göttingen, where he did his Bachelors degree on machine learning and his masters on the theory of x-ray optics and optical simulations. During his studies he learned how to code and wrote advanced physics simulation software as a side-job. After graduating, he became founder and lead developer of the math-app Maphi. He is in love with coding, sharing knowledge and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
