Haskell Wednesday: Artyom Kazak talks about Template Haskell

Details

Special guest this time! Here is the announcement by himself.
Location will be announced shortly.

Hi! I'm Artyom Kazak, a backend dev at Wire (and in the past, one of core developers of Cardano – an open-source state-of-the-art cryptocurrency written fully in Haskell). If you know me at all, it might be because of the "lens over tea" series of posts, or maybe my Aeson tutorial.

I'm going to give an hour-long talk containing pretty much everything I know about Template Haskell. For those who haven't ever heard about it: Template Haskell a way to generate and/or inspect Haskell code – so, something like macros in Lisp, but much more awful. The elevator pitch goes like this: after hearing the talk you'll acquire awesome boilerplate-removing powers, with the catch being that everyone who sees your code will hate you a bit. Cheers!
