Moon and snow night hike (8 km)
Details
Let's go to the north of Berlin and do a short night hike through the snow while the moon is shining!
At the moment, the moon is still quite full (it is at 80%), the night sky is expected to be clear and the snow is still quite nice. This should create a nice nightime snow landscape. So, let's try to use these good conditions and do a night hike through the snowy landscape while the moon is shining.
We will meet at 21:09 at the bus stop Schildow Kirche. You can reach that stop by taking the M1 tram and then changing to the bus 107. From there, we will walk through the meadows around Lübars and the Tegeler Fließ, which should be quite nice during these conditions. At 21:34, the moon rises in the east. If we are lucky, we get a nice moon view over a lake. We will finish the hike at the tram stop Rosenthal Nord which is again on the M1 tram line.
Note:
- The connection from tram to bus which is suggested by default by most planning apps is just two minutes, which might work, but might also not work when the tram is delayed. It might be a good idea to take the tram which runs 10 minutes before. Then, it will be a 4 to 5 minute walk to the bus stop.
- It will be very cold, expect temperatures between -5 and -7 degrees. Dress suitably for that!
- Please be on time at the meeting point.
- It will be dark and we will go mostly along unlit paths. Having a flashlight with you might be a good idea.
- You are all responsible for yourself.
