Let's hike from Rehfelde through the outskirts of the wavy landscape of Märkische Schweiz and a couple of tiny and well-preserved villages! We will come across medieval fieldstone churches ... and one pyramid.

The pyramid in Garzin-Garzau was built in 1784 by Graf von Schmettau as a decoration for his landscape park. The pyramid features a number of antique architectural features, which was "en-vogue" in the 18th century.

We'll meet on Saturday at 10:04 at Rehfelde Railway Station. You can get there by taking the RB 26 train leaving at 9:38 from Berlin-Lichtenberg.

From Rehfelde, we'll hike through the hilly meadows through Garzau, Garzin and Werder. We will end up again at the station in Rehfelde from where we return.

Trains back to Berlin leave every hour at minute 58 and take about half an hour.

Important things to note:

  • It will be cold and the ground might be icy, muddy or wet at some places. Please wear suitable attire and shoes.
  • You are all responsible for yourself. None of us is mountain guide or something like that.
  • There won't be too many Späties around, so have enough water and food with you.
