Heath Blossom Hike: Treuenbrietzen to Luckenwalde (27 km)
Details
This hike starts in the picturesque town of Treuenbrietzen, from where it takes us through some swampy forest (Mosquito alert - bring repellent!).
Continuing through fields and villages, a former military area with heath vegetation and sandy trails awaits us and may offer the chance for some barefoot walking.
This hike's lost place is a rather unusual one, since it's a town that got erased by the soviet army to make space for military use, so there might not be a lot of it left.
After entering the town of Luckenwalde we catch one of the trains that run at least every hour to Berlin.
Meet us in the first car of the train RE4, departing from
Südkreuz station at 10:15 on platform 5,
arriving at Jüterbog, Bahnhof at 10:54, then taking the Train RB33 at 11:11 to Treuenbrietzen, Bahnhof (same platform).
There is an alternative connection from Potsdam. Make sure to arrive at Treuenbrietzen train station at 11:30
Unless you are subscribed to the Deutschlandticket, you need to buy a train ticket to Treuenbrietzen.
