About us

We’re starting a new high-quality badminton group for high intermediate and advanced players at the excellent facilities of Salmon Youth Centre.

The aim is simple: serious, enjoyable games at a good standard, with enough courts and rotation to keep everyone playing consistently while keeping costs fair for all.

Proposed Weekly Sessions
Saturday: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Sunday: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

(These sit within the centre’s available weekend booking window.)

Courts & Format
4 full badminton courts available in the hall
Up to 24 players per session, around 6 per court rotating regularly
Proper rotation to ensure good game time and balanced matches
Feather shuttles only for quality play

Expected Cost Per Session (2 hours)
Hall hire is £65 per hour for the whole sports hall.
With 20+ players → around £10 per person including shuttles
Starting with 16 players → around £12 to £13 per person depending on shuttle choice and usage

Once we have enough members, we’ll create a WhatsApp group to vote on:
Preferred shuttle brand
Final session timings within the allowed window
Rotation format and session structure

Venue: Salmon Youth Centre, 43 Old Jamaica Rd, London SE16 4TE
About 8 minutes walk from Bermondsey tube station
No dedicated parking for the hall, but pay and display street parking is available nearby on surrounding roads
