ti&m Hack Night IoT and TTN

Details

In february at ti&m there will take place another Hacknight. This time it's all about IoT and TTN. While IoT (Internet of Things) is proably well known to everyone, TTN stands for The Things Network. The Things Network is an open, community-based initiative to build an energy-saving, wide-area network for the Internet of Things.

The goal of the evening is to implement various small IoT projects and integrate them into the TTN using LoRaWAN. Of course, beer and pizza are not neglected this evening either.

The hack night is for everyone who is interested in the topic and is looking forward to learning something new. Also if you are already experienced you are welcome to join, we would be happy if you share your experiences with us.

Referent: The speaker of the event is Oleg Lavrovsky. He is a freelance software engineer and an enthusiastic organizer and coach of public workshops, and is behind the successful series of Opendata.ch hackdays. His concern is to strengthen local communities and build sustainable bridges in a world that is increasingly dependent on data, futhermore he helps to grow the community for The Things Network in berne an zurich.

We'll start with input from Oleg at 5.30pm, set up our laptops and form sub-teams. Afterwars we go over to the practical hacking which is supported by Oleg and collegues. Between the practical parts and some Pizza, Oleg will provide other further information about TTN. Everyone is welcome, beginners and advanced. We usually close the session at 10pm with a beer in hand - if you like.
