Mists of Nulan Book 2: Chapter 10

Last Time:

Shortly after defeating the hideous crab hiding in the rubble, the party discovered a hoard of treasure the creature was keeping in its pool of water. If nothing else, the adventurers became significantly richer!

Further into the temple, they discovered a room filled with carnivorous blobs floating in the air. There was a sealed door in front of them and the other passageways that could be explored.

In the middle of the room was a gemstone emitting a blue light. Gowan and Jinn cautiously made to grab the stone. But in response to them stepping onto the pedestal, a deep rumbling emerged and a huge bug like aberration erupted from the soggy ground lying in puddles near the pedestal.

The gorilla was paralyzed by its bite and several members were trampled by the unexpected creature. In reward, they determined that the crystal they found not only emits light but can help to reveal hidden things.

Turning down the right passageway, they found a room with an elaborate statue surrounded by glowing symbols. Beyond that, there were some bird like humanoid creatures doing mathematical calculations and various paperwork.

The adventurers surprised these aberrations. The birds seemingly had little ability to defend themselves, desperately trying to sow discontent on their attackers with negative thoughts to turn them against each other.

After slaughtering the birds, the party found little to go through in their office room since much of it was burned (and still on fire) by a fireball.

Jinn also discovered that the glowing panels around the statue could be pressed / clicked in and after about 4 were clicked the whole contraption would flash red and reset.
