Carson Beach, Boston, MA, USThis is advanced level beach doubles pickup game. The event is not full unless explicitly mentioned in this text - please join the wait list and read how to get the spot below.
WAIT LIST, FIRST TIME PLAYERS: All events start from the wait list - if you are joining for the first time please contact the host via direct messages for entry into the event.
DETAILS:
- we play beach doubles
- we accept advanced level - players should be able to consistently perform bump-set-spike routine in a competitive game environment, understand and follow basic game strategies
- we play on 2 nets
- limit for the session is 12 people (8 playing on 2 nets, 4 waiting)
FEES:
Select either one-time seasonal fee ($50) or game-by-game option ($5). Our Venmo is @BestYet23. You can upgrade from game-by-game to seasonal fee during your first 5 games - the seasonal payment will be pro-rated accordingly.Fees are applied to equipment and meet-up costs.

We rarely cancel due to weather - heavy rains are usually short in Boston in summer, and we are still up for playing under light rain.PARKING:

10:00AM Intermediate Volleyball Doubles King/Queen at Carson Beach | $5 | S5E10
Carson Beach, Boston, MA, USIntermediate level King/Queen of the Court beach doubles game. Players are expected to be consistent in receiving the ball and to follow bump/set/spike routine.
King/Queen RULES:
- One side of the court is designated as the 'King/Queen' side, while the opposite side is the serving side
- There is a line of players waiting to jump in on the serving side
- The serve is directed to the King/Queen side, and the rally is played out.
- If you win the point, you move to the King/Queen side or just stay in if you're already on that side.
- If you lose the point, you go back to the serving line
- The next team in line jumps in up to serve

The suggested fee is $5. Our Venmo is @BestYet23.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOUCH RULES
In order to communicate beach volleyball ball touch rules and expectations, please see summary and videos below. If you have questions, good videos or additional rules to add, please let us know!- Open hand reception are not allowed (this is beach culture and not actually a rule), except for set and very hard driven ball . Instead, use pass, pokey, tomahawk, tostada.
- One hand soft touches with finger pads not allowed to play ball over net - ball should bounce of firm part of hand vs a soft redirect by finger pads.
- Hand sets must be a single touch (contact & release from both hands simultaneously) and should minimize backward travel in hands.
- Set overs are allowed if square to your shoulders (setting forward and backwards across net ok).
- Touching net is not allowed.
- If you block the ball, you only get 2 more touches. Blocker can play the next touch after blocking.
