About us
Most professional development focuses on individual skills, tools and behaviours. Opportunities to learn alongside professionals from different organisations, sectors and disciplines are much rarer.
BeTeam explores something different. Rather than focusing solely on individual development, we explore the patterns that shape how teams, organisations and communities function.
These are open team skill-building sessions run in the evening in a welcoming meeting room, with refreshments and an opportunity to meet other professionals in your locality.
The sessions are hosted by Glenis, a former MBA lecturer and corporate trainer, as well as an experienced Meetup organiser who has previously run successful communities including W4 Meals Out and Cake Tasters of London.
What is Pattern Literacy?
As you become a regular attendee, you'll develop the ability to recognise recurring patterns in teams, organisations and complex environments, and use those insights to make better decisions.
Over time, you'll build a richer understanding of how you contribute to teams, how team dynamics emerge, and how patterns influence collective performance, collaboration and decision-making.
Many leaders encounter symptoms such as:
- Communication breakdowns
- Resistance to change
- Silo working
- Difficult meetings
- Recurring workplace challenges
Pattern Literacy encourages us to look beneath individual events and ask:
What pattern are we seeing emerge?

What Happens at Events?
Events may include face-to-face and online workshops, discussions, practical exercises, guest speakers and real-world pattern spotting.
At each two-and-a-half-hour session, with a maximum of 10 participants, the group will work together on a shared task and create an output using materials such as flip charts, magazines and collaborative exercises.
During the session, participants will have opportunities to reflect on group dynamics, receive feedback on their contributions, and consider how patterns emerge within teams and collective problem-solving processes.
Thought-provoking questions may be posed to both the group and individual participants throughout the session. After the group activity, participants will join a peer feedback discussion, followed by dedicated time for networking and professional conversations.
Whether you're leading a team, supporting organisational change, coaching leaders or developing people, BeTeam offers a space to think more deeply about what is happening beneath the surface and how to respond wisely.
See the pattern. Understand the system. Make better decisions.
