Scalability with Apache Kafka & Overcome the challenges of being a woman in tech

As a woman in tech, do you feel there are challenges in your career which are proving difficult to overcome? Wanna learn more about streaming world and Apache Kafka? Then come join us for our first Women in Technology meetup in our Hammersmith office! Food and drinks will be provided.

Our meetup will consist of 3 parts:

1. 19:00 to 19:30: Tech session "How Betfair Exchange is achieving scalability using Apache Kafka"
   In this first part, we will give you an overview about our journey building a more reliable and scalable architecture via consistent, highly available Kafka clusters. This will consist on a presentation and any Q&A you might have for us.

2. 19:30 to 20:30: Open discussion "Overcoming the challenges of being a woman in Tech"
   This will be the highlight of the night! A round table discussion to identify what are our main blockers as female professionals, how to overcome these difficulties and own our careers. In the first part of the exercise we will be organized in small groups and go through some examples of daily challenges at work. The aim is to identify each problem and come up with strategies to overcome them. In the second part we will discuss our findings all together, listen to each other's tips and share our opinions or past experiences.

3. 20:30 to 21:00: Let's have a drink together!
