Refugee Shabbat with Guest Presenter from HIAS

After a brief Shabbat service we will listen to a presentation from a HIAS representative about the organization and the work they are engaged in today.

Guided by the traditions, texts, and history of the Jewish people, HIAS (originally the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) was founded over 100 years ago to support Jews fleeing persecution and poverty in Eastern Europe. Since then HIAS has expanded to help generations of Jews and others of diverse faiths, ethnicities, and backgrounds facing violence across five continents to receive the services and opportunities needed to thrive.
