Looking for a quick nature escape and good company? Join us for a scenic 4.4-mile hike in beautiful Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C..
We’ll follow the Western Ridge and Valley Trails through peaceful forest paths, along Rock Creek, and past the historic Fort DeRussy. Expect a mix of wooded trails, creek views, and a few moderate climbs to keep things interesting.

Parking lot at the Rock Creek Park Nature Center & Planetarium.

• Comfortable hiking shoes (some sections are rocky and narrow)
• Water, Snacks
• Hiking pole (optional)
🚶♂️🚗 Parking: Free parking is available at the Nature Center. If the main lot is full, you can park at the Maintenance Yard farther down Glover Road—about a 5-minute walk away.
