Story Hour (Sacred Colorado Connections on Zoom)
Details
### An hour of small stories and sacred connection.
Tuesday, December 1 · 5:30–6:30 PM
Online via Zoom
There are more than 200 people connected to BETWEEN Colorado... and most of us haven't met each other yet.
So let's spend an hour changing that.
STORY HOUR is a simple online gathering built around one idea: every person you encounter carries a lifetime of stories you don't know.
We'll start with one short story about sacred human connection. Then we'll spend most of our time in small groups of just a few people, using easy, interesting prompts to hear a little more about one another.
Nothing to prepare. No presentation to give. Nobody is going to ask you to share your deepest secret or explain your entire spiritual journey. And you can always pass on a question. Listening counts as participating.
You might be asked something like:
What's something that's brought you joy lately?
What's a place that has shaped you?
What's something you're wondering about these days?
Who is someone you're grateful to have known?
Come from your couch. Bring dinner. Pour yourself something you enjoy.
You don't have to have a big story. You just have to have a story. And you do.

### What to Expect
5:30 · Welcome & Gather
We'll say hello, introduce BETWEEN, and settle in together.
5:35 · One Small Story
Matt Mattson will share a very short story about an ordinary moment of human connection—and offer a question for us to carry into the evening.
5:40 · Story Circle #1
We'll head into small Zoom rooms of about 3–4 people with a couple of easy prompts. You'll have a chance to share, listen, ask questions, or simply be present.
5:55 · Back Together
We'll return to the whole group for a few reflections—not reports about what other people shared, just anything you noticed about the experience of listening and being heard.
6:05 · Story Circle #2
New small groups. New questions. Another chance to meet someone you probably didn't know an hour ago. The prompts may go a little deeper, but sharing is always an invitation, never an obligation.
6:20 · Closing Circle
We'll gather one last time for a simple reflection and blessing.
6:30 · Go Gently
That's it. One hour. A few stories. A few new people. Hopefully a little less distance between us.

### A Few FAQs
Do I need to know anyone?
No. In fact, this is especially for people who have been interested in BETWEEN Colorado but haven't found an easy way to jump in yet.
How many people will be there?
Maybe it'll only be you and Matt. Maybe 200. We genuinely have no idea. Any amount is the perfect amount for that evening.
Am I going to have to tell a deeply personal story?
Nope. You decide what you share. The questions are designed to invite curiosity and connection, not forced vulnerability. Passing is always okay.
Is this a religious gathering?
BETWEEN is rooted in the most inclusive and curious and affirming version of the Christian tradition and is radically welcoming of people with all kinds of faith, uncertain faith, changing faith, and no particular faith. STORY HOUR isn't about agreeing on what we believe. It's about practicing something we think is sacred: paying attention to one another.
Why stories?
Because it's hard to reduce someone to a category once you know something about their life. Stories invite us to become curious about people instead of assuming we already have them figured out.
The space between us is sacred. Let's spend an hour noticing it.
