What we’re about
“Intimate relationships have changed more in the past 50 years than they did in the previous 500.”
So writes Stephanie Coontz, author of Marriage: A History and The Way We Never Were.
That’s what this book club is all about – relationships, sex, love, gender dynamics, families and more.
We’ll read fiction and non-fiction books, maybe some articles, possibly a podcast or two – who knows. And then have meaningful discussions about these topics – not just considering the books but also our own lives and experiences.
We’ve got started with a core group and would like 4-5 more people to join us. We’re looking for any age – right now we range from 25-55; what a great diversity of experiences and perspectives. And any gender, any marital/partnered status, and any view from monogamy to polyamory. What’s critical are an open mind, a willingness to listen and share and a desire to be in a small, relatively committed group, not a drop in and out whenever time happens to be available group.
If this sounds like you – get in touch! Next meeting is in January!
(Note, I had launched Between the Covers under a different group, but relaunching it here to be more specific about what we're looking for)
