Our September read is Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke — and this one promises to give us a lot to talk about!
Meet Natalie Heller Mills: a picture-perfect “tradwife” influencer whose carefully curated life of farmhouse living, family and domestic bliss is followed by millions online. But when she suddenly finds herself living in the brutal reality of 1855, she is forced to confront just how different the fantasy of a traditional life is from the reality. Part satire, part thriller and full of social commentary, Yesteryear explores identity, womanhood, faith, social media and the stories we tell about ourselves.
If the weather is still being kind to us, I suggest we make the most of it and meet in the park again (Jephson Gardens)!
If not, we’ll head to a pub instead, venue to be confirmed closer to the day.
