Coptic Christmas Festivities
Details
On January 7, Coptic Orthodox communities celebrate Christmas (the Feast of the Nativity).
For our first Between Worlds Brooklyn gathering, we’ll experience this tradition together as a cultural and communal event.
We’ll start by meeting at a nearby café to say hello, share a bit of context about the tradition, and walk over together to St. George Coptic Orthodox Church. From there, we’ll attend the church festivities, which include sacred music, hymns, and a vibrant community atmosphere.
This event is secular and cultural in approach. You don’t need to be religious, Christian, or familiar with Coptic traditions to attend. The focus is on music, ritual, history, and being present in a living cultural space.
