# Bits, Bytes and Beyond by Vinted x Latitude & Increment

We're delighted to welcome all data experts to this special gathering of minds. Amsterdam has always been a hub for innovation, especially in the tech sector. Today, our city is home to thousands of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, ML Engineers, and Data Scientists. Yet, despite this wealth of talent and interest, there's room for improvement in the quality of tech and data meetups recently. That's why we're here today.

## 📣 This Edition

For our second edition we are partnering up with Vinted. Two of their Analytics Engineers are willing to take us along in their journey.

1. Rafael Barbosa & Rodrigo Loredo - Analytics Engineers at Vinted
Vinted Marketplace is the largest online international C2C marketplace in Europe dedicated to second-hand fashion, with a growing member base of over 80 million registered members. With a mission to make second-hand the first choice worldwide, Vinted enables people to sell and buy second-hand clothes and lifestyle items from each other. Every day we process high volumes of data not only to analyse the members' behavior, but also to improve their experience with better recommendations, increased safety, and many more features.

In this talk, Rafael Barbosa and Rodrigo Loredo, Analytics Engineers at Vinted, will talk about the Vinted's journey of moving their data platform from on-premise to the cloud. The talk focus on the migration of an end-to-end machine learning pipeline, used for recommendations and (re)ranking of items. From data modeling to infrastructure and A/B testing, they will share their learnings and challenges faced in the migration.

2. Gianmarco Disario - Data Science & AI lead | founder at Latitude
Causal Inference has been all the rage in the recent times as the next frontier for data science & machine learning. With that, it has become murkier and more confusing to actually know when to use what and how to get started. From creating your causal DAGs to Quasi-Experimental methods and how Bayesian fits into all of this. Not to forget the most important part, how do you actually create value for a business out of it?

In this talk Gianmarco paints an overview of the current landscape of causal inference and showcases practical examples of how to use it in a setting of customer analytics. How can you drive up customer lifetime value from structural causal models?
