The Furey Festival (Tom Furey Memorial Trust)

My friend Tom died in a climbing accident in 2022, one month before he was due to get married. He was 30 years old and an exceptional mountain leader/mountaineering and climbing instructor. He was also an outstanding human being who I miss dearly.

The Tom Furey Memorial Trust (TFMT) was set up by Katie, his fiancé, and some of Tom's friends. The TFMT is a registered charity dedicated to advancing education and training in safe walking and mountaineering.

The Furey Festival is an annual event to raise funds for the Trust and enable the Trust to keep giving grants to individuals facing financial hardship, enabling them to access training they might not otherwise afford.

A minimum donation of £25 per half-day session, £50 for a full-day workshop with 100% of this going directly into the Tom Furey Memorial Trust

I'll be going as a volunteer to help out. If enough people are interested in coming for the event and making a weekend of it I'll see if I can find a hut to keep the costs down.
