Edale Skyline Challenge
Details
This is 2026's challenge event and for this we are tackling the Edale Skyline challenge.
The Edale Skyline Challenge is a 20-mile circular route in the Peak District with 1100m of climb taking 8-10 hours to complete. If we have good weather the views will be amazing! It is achievable by most reasonably fit walkers. Think Yorkshire 3 Peaks level.
It will be an early start from our Stony Middleton base to Hope and then round a route with some iconic hills.
This weekend will be led by Phil who is a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader. We will also have a support team of 1-2 people (with cars) who will drop off and collect us plus keep us fed and watered.
The cost is £100 plus the stupid fee from PayPal/Meetup (£25 RSVP and £75) as the volunteer support team go free.

You will need:
- To have attended at least 1 training weekend within the previous 12 months
- Sleeping bag and pillow as you will want to sleep!
- Hill food for a very long day
- Good footwear/multiple footwear
- Spare socks
- Clothing for warm or hot weather
- Clothing for cold wet weather
- A really good head torch
- Grit, resilience and espirit d'corps :-)
