Digital Photography 101 - Master Your Camera

Details
Let's get together for a 2 hour "Digital Photography 101 - Master your Camera" workshop at the Union Square Farmers Market in New York City! This class is geared towards the beginner and advanced beginner at digital photography. We will focus on the technical aspects of photography and how to better use your camera while getting off the "auto mode". By doing so, we will start to better understand the way our cameras work in order to reduce the amount of disappointing images and non-reproducible results. By learning how to take pictures in semi-automatic modes, we are taking control of creative aspects such as depth-of-field and motion blur.
We will explore the Union Square Farmers Market and use the many appealing food and flower stands to practice our photography skills. During the workshop, we will work with the available light, learn how to use depth-of-field creatively and control our camera instead of being controlled by them. I will cover many little tricks and secrets that pros use on a daily basis. It is my goal that at the end of our class you will not only understand your camera better, but you will have better photographs to prove it!
Please bring your camera (DSLR or Point&Shoot) and the lenses you regularly use (only applicable for DSLR's) and charged batteries and memory cards with sufficient free space. No tripod or other equipment will be needed.
We are going to meet at the SE corner of Union Square West, Broadway and 17th Street. I am 6'6" tall and will carry an olive-green camera backpack for you to recognize me.
I look forward to seeing you there!
