Wednesday Night Hike!

Our regular Wednesday evening hike around Griffith Park getting some exercise and enjoying the great conversation, company, and cool views. Come join the fun! http://img1.meetupstatic.com/img/smileys/smile.gif

This hike normally runs around 2-2.5 hours and 4-5 miles. Bring water and a long sleeve shirt or light jacket if you get chilly easily. Optional accessories include a flashlight (red preferred but not mandatory), camera, bug repellent, munchies, etc. And dogs are welcome.

Park in Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round lot #2 and we'll meet at the South end. For those of you that aren't familiar with the park, there's a map in the files section showing the location. For those of you that haven't been there before, here's a Google Maps link to lot #1 that you can get directions from:

However, the easiest way is to get there is to take the Los Feliz/Crystal Springs entrance to the park just off the I5 freeway. Go North on Crystal Springs into the park and stay to the left through the construction. After about a mile and a couple of stop signs you'll come to a four way intersection. The ranger station should be on your right. Make a left at that intersection, go up the road a little bit, and you'll be forced to turn right into merry-go-round lot #1. Just drive through lot #1 and down the road a little ways and you'll be in lot #2.

PLEASE NOTE: Zoo drive is CLOSED. You have to come into the park through the Los Feliz Blvd/Crystal Springs Entrance, or the back way via Forrest Lawn/Griffith Park Blvd . If you're not familiar with the park, use the Los Feliz entrance. It's easier.
