Remember Show and Tell as a kid? This is the adult version...
This is a small, guided online gathering for adults who want to be seen without performing.
Bring one thing.
Say why it matters.
That’s it.
You might bring:
- a poem
- a piece of art or writing
- a half-finished idea
- an object with a story
- something you’ve been carrying longer than you meant to
If you join as a Participant, you’ll have up to 7 minutes.
Use them however you want. Read. Hold the object. Tell the story. Sit in silence for a moment if you need to.
If you join as an Observer, your role is simple and powerful: witness.
Listening counts.
- This is not an open mic.
- This is not critique.
- This is not therapy.
It’s a human room.
A pause.
A place where people don’t have to justify what they made or who they are.
### A few gentle agreements
- Camera on if you can. Presence matters here.
- Stay muted unless invited to speak.
- No advice. No fixing. No feedback unless someone asks.
- Share only what’s needed to honor the thing you brought.
- Time limits are real. I may gently interrupt to protect the container.
### Why this exists
I have recently started to slow down and one of the beautiful things I've started to notice was:
- So much care.
- So much effort.
- So many human hours.
That I was often just scrolling past.
Social platforms reward speed, polish, and performance. They are not built for presence. Or attention. Or reverence.
This gathering is an experiment in slowing down.
- One person.
- One thing.
- One story at a time.
- Shared deliberately.
- Received deliberately.
Not to go viral.
Not to be improved.
Just to be seen.
If you’ve been holding something quietly and wondering if it matters…
it probably does.
You’re welcome here.
