Part of Bhakti, Sound & Soma Thursdays-An weekly gathering of Sound, Somatics & Community
Kirtan, meditation, and community singing draw from the spirit of togetherness — inviting us to gather in devotion, sound, and shared warmth.
In times when the world can feel heavy or fragmented, this is an invitation to return to something simple and human: coming together in voice, rhythm, and presence.
This offering is part of Bhakti, Sound & Soma Thursdays by Mokshajyoti.
The kirtan gathering meets every first and third Thursday.
This is a non-performative community space rooted in the Indian Bhakti tradition. Rather than watching a performance, we gather in a circle and chant together in call-and-response, allowing the music to become a shared devotional experience.

### What to Expect

• Ecstatic Bhakti kirtan rooted in Indian devotional chanting traditions
• Call-and-response mantra singing with voice, drums, and rhythm
• A warm, welcoming community atmosphere where all voices are welcome
• Optional reflection or sharing to deepen connection
• Shakers and small instruments provided
We will journey from quiet meditation into ecstatic collective sound, allowing rhythm, breath, and voice to guide the evening.
No musical experience is needed — simply bring your voice, your breath, and your openness.
Children 8+ are welcome (please supervise your child).

### What is Bhakti Kirtan?

Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of divine love — a path of opening the heart through devotion, music, and connection.
One of its most joyful practices is kirtan, a call-and-response style of mantra chanting that helps quiet the thinking mind and awaken the heart through vibration, rhythm, and collective voice.

### About Mokshajyoti

Mokshajyoti Chumki (she/her) of Moss & Moksha is an Indian sacred sound artist, kirtan vocalist, and somatic self-expression facilitator.
Rooted in Indian devotional and classical musical traditions, her work weaves raaga-inspired melodies, sacred chanting, intuitive sound, and somatic awareness to create spaces of healing, belonging, and communal expression.
Through voice, rhythm, and shared presence, she invites participants into experiences of joy, devotion, release, and connection with self and community.
