If you've never read the classic Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, now is the time to do so. His story is still relevant today.

"I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs." - Frederick Douglass

The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is an autobiographical slave narrative by the renowned abolitionist and former slave, Frederick Douglass. It powerfully recounts Douglass's life of oppression and his journey to freedom. The narrative begins with an introduction to Douglass's life as a slave and his earliest memories of the brutalities of slavery. He describes his struggles with a cruel master and the hardships of being separated from his family. Despite these challenges, Douglass learned to read and write, which deepened his understanding of the world. Through education, he recognized the evils of slavery and became an outspoken opponent of the institution. The narrative concludes with Douglass's escape from slavery and his subsequent success as an abolitionist and public speaker. This compelling story of courage and resilience highlights Douglass's strength and the vital role of education in the fight for freedom.
