In this online series of lectures and Q&As with participants, Allen will lay out what he has experienced to be the misconceptions regarding the study and pursuit of acting, as well as his advice for how best to pursue excellence and success in the acting field. Using the BHP’s three-pronged approach to Acting, Attitude and Career Administration, Allen’s experience will allow anyone -- at any level, in any location — to think more clearly about how to move forward on their dream to act.

A free weekly online series with Allen Barton-- a 30-year veteran of the Beverly Hills Playhouse Acting School, Allen is the current owner and principal teacher of the BHPs Advanced level classes. His book THE OASIS OF INSANITY is a contemporary guide to the Study and Pursuit of Acting.
Allen Barton is an LA-based playwright/author, teacher and classical pianist. Full length plays include CIRCLING, DISCONNECTION, YEARS TO THE DAY (one of LA Weekly’s 10 Best New Plays for 2013), and ENGAGEMENT. Directing work includes DUET FOR ONE, BRILLIANT TRACES, GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES, SPEED-THE-PLOW, OLEANNA, THE HEIDI CHRONICLES, ENGAGEMENT, THE REAL THING, RABBIT HOLE, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, and BURN THIS. As a classical pianist, he has recorded five compact discs (available at Apple Music), performs solo recitals regularly on both coasts, and In 2010 was made a Steinway Artist. Allen is currently owner and principal teacher at the Beverly Hills Playhouse acting school, where he was mentored by Milton Katselas. His 2017 book THE OASIS OF INSANITY (available at Amazon and iBooks) is a memoir of his apprenticeship with Katselas, as well as a guidebook to the study and pursuit of acting in the 21st century.
