Online Study - Bible Versions, How do they Differ?

Weeks 4-6 of this study will include a session largely devoted to understanding the King James Version and its past and present impact in the church. Another session plus, will take up the topic of gender and Bible translation, e.g., how do some modern translations differ from traditional translations in passages in verses where terms such as "men" and "brothers" have been traditionally used to refer to all persons? And what should we make of the often-used term "gender neutral" to characterize some Bible translations? Some time will also be given to further consideration of paraphrase Bibles and how they differ from translations. Some time will also be given to the topic of what Bible translations are approved for use by the Roman Catholic Church.
